  • McKinley County maintains approximately 500+ miles of road throughout the county. McKinley County adopted a Non-Subdivision Road Work Policy to help citizens (or groups of citizens) in obtaining necessary right-of-way; and then apply for acceptance for road maintenance. In essence, the County will require the citizen or community of citizens to obtain appropriate Right-of-Way and may even require the community of citizens to bring up the Right-of-Way to an appropriate standard prior to acceptance for maintenance.   • There is no general zoning ordinance for McKinley County. McKinley County regulates the division of land and development of land through Subdivision Regulations, 1997; and the County Master Plan. For a letter regarding Zoning or other information on a specific area of the County, please contact the Legal Department. Also, the County has adopted an Ordinance that regulates the building, modifying or construction of Cell Towers. This is a specific use Ordinance that operates similar to Zoning. Review the
